PRICING & PAYMENT

Is it really flat $35/hr with no other fees?
Yes. One rate, one phone number. The only things added to your bill are parts we buy on your behalf (at cost, with receipts) and a 3% surcharge if you pay by card (cash, Venmo, Zelle, Apple Pay are free).
Do you charge a trip fee or travel fee?
No. We're island-only, so we're already here. Trip fees exist when handymen drive in from Sarasota or Bradenton β€” that's not us.
What's the minimum?
One hour. After the first hour, we bill in 15-minute increments. If a job takes 45 minutes, you still pay for one hour ($35). If it takes 1 hour 10 minutes, you pay $43.75.
How do I pay?
Cash, Venmo, Zelle, Apple Pay, or card. We collect when the tasq is done β€” no invoicing portals, no net-30 terms, no monthly subscriptions. Card adds a 3% processing fee.
Do you take tips?
The Tasquatch will not say no. Tips are never expected or hinted at, but always appreciated.

SCHEDULING

How fast can you be here?
Often same-day for smaller tasqs, especially if you call in the morning. If we're booked, we'll quote you the next available slot. In storm weeks things fill up β€” book early.
Do you work weekends?
Yes. We're available 7 days a week. Sunday mornings we're a little slower to answer β€” we're probably at the beach.
What about evenings or late-night emergencies?
Standard hours are 7am–7pm. For urgent same-day stuff (storm prep, broken water supply line, something dangerous), call β€” we'll figure it out. Not an after-hours emergency service like a plumber, though.
Do I need to be home?
No. Many regulars give us lockbox or door-code access and we send before/after photos. Works great for snowbirds and vacation rental managers.

SERVICES

Can you do plumbing?
Small stuff, yes β€” faucet swaps, toilet replacements, shower-head upgrades, disposal installs, stopped drains we can snake. Anything involving re-piping, soldering, or that requires a licensed plumber β€” we'll refer you to one.
What about electrical?
Swap-for-swap work on existing circuits (ceiling fans, light fixtures, outlets, switches) β€” yes. New wiring, new circuits, panel work β€” no, you need a licensed electrician.
Can you help with my vacation rental turnover?
Absolutely. Between-guest fix-ups, minor damage repair, restocking. We can also run on a recurring schedule with property managers β€” see the pricing page for volume rates.
Will you remove junk or haul things away?
Yes, within reason β€” broken furniture to the dump, e-waste drop-off, donation runs to Habitat. If it fits in a pickup truck bed, we can usually move it.
What WON'T you do?
Anything requiring a contractor's license: roofing, structural work, HVAC, major plumbing, major electrical, pool equipment repair. Anything illegal or unsafe. Anything that requires a permit we don't have.

ABOUT THE BUSINESS

Are you licensed and insured?
We carry general liability insurance in the State of Florida. We're not a licensed contractor β€” for licensed-trade work we refer to pros. COI available for property managers or HOAs on request.
Is 'the Tasquatch' one person or many?
The brand is the brand; the team grows over time. We start with one or two friendly humans and scale up as AMI needs grow. Whoever shows up will have the red cap and the red toolbox.
Why only Anna Maria Island?
Because fast response and community trust require tight geography. If we stretched to Bradenton or Sarasota, we'd be two hours late to every call. Island-only keeps the quality high.
Do you have a mascot costume?
We're working on it. Ideally by Bayfest.
